The month of September was full of fun stuff. We moved into our house...yay!! We were very thankful for that. We lived in a 2 bedroom condo for a month and had been on vacation for 2 weeks in a 2 bedroom condo plus temporary living in Las Vegas and my parents. So, about 2 months of temporary living. We were thankful for all the places we stayed, but even more grateful to be in our house.
We celebrated my birthday at the end of Sept and my parents came to visit for that weekend!!! Woohoo!! They actually kept Abigail and Nathaniel for the week the movers came and then my birthday was the following weekend. So, of course I had my kitchen set up first and plenty of other boxes I needed to go through....but, I had time to make myself a cake. I found a new recipe for an oreo cake. It was delicious...it was a 2 layer cake with oreo's, sour cream, and choc chips in the batter. Then, we made a buttercream frosting for in between the layers so as to look like an oreo and then choc buttercream frosting on top with crushed oreo's. It was wonderful. My mom said she would make my cake...but I kind of took over and she washed the dishes instead. That was the best present ever....I love the baking part, but the cleaning part is not so fun!! So that was perfect. Thanks mom!!! It was special to have them for my bday. I don't remember the last time they have been with me for my birthday!! Yay!!
October was busy as we were in full swing with our homeschool group. We meet on Fridays from 9-12 and I am teaching a class of 6-6 year old boys with lots of energy!!! We now have 2 weeks left and I am ready for a break. They are good kids and I enjoy them, but it will be nice for a break. The boys also had soccer in Sept and Oct. Kevin coached their team and thankfully the were on the same team..makes life much easier when that happens. We also started swimming at the Y a few nights a week. I have been swimming with them as the coach coaches all age groups and there are a few adults as well. So, that has been good for me.
We went to a festival in downtown Sebring near the libary and the kids rode ponies. Abigail LOVES horses!!! She enjoyed petting the horse as well! It was a beautiful day...felt like fall. It has warmed up since then...it will probably yoyo from warm to cold for the next few weeks.
Enjoy the pics. They are a bit random.
